Dawn Casey
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

Dawn Casey is a descendant of the Tagalaka clan in North Queensland, Australia. Dawn is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation and has previously held full-time positions as Director of the Western Australian Museum, the Powerhouse Museum and the National Museum of Australia. Dawn’s career also includes a number of key executive positions in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Indigenous Affairs, Cultural Heritage and Overseas Aid and Development. Dawn Casey has been awarded three Honorary Doctorates (Charles Sturt University, University of Queensland and Macquarie University) and numerous other awards including the Commonwealth Government’s Public Service Medal, Australian Government’s Centenary Medal, three Australia Day Public Service Medals, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
