Sexual and Reproductive Justice Cannot Wait: All Rights, All People, Acting Now!

UNITED NATIONS, New York  – The High Level Commission on the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 Follow-up held its culminating event on the sidelines of the High-Level week of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, September 22, that saw the launch of its 2023 report driving home a clear message: sexual and reproductive justice cannot wait, and we all must play a part in achieving rights and choices becoming a reality for all people. The event was held with a full in-person audience at the auditorium of the Scandinavia House in New York, while also being live streamed in various languages so global audiences could join in, and started with opening remarks by the Commission’s Co-Chairs presenting the report.

Youth Publications

The report, Rights, Justice, Action: Making sexual and reproductive justice a reality for all: A report for youth by youth reflecting on the findings and recommendations of the High-Level Commission on the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 Follow-up, was created by young people, for young people, to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, can participate in the global effort toward sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. This report presents how stakeholders organize global efforts toward implementing the commitments made at the landmark Nairobi Summit on ICPD25. This resource provides young people with key information to encourage their meaningful participation and advocacy to support the implementation of the ICPD25 Commitments and their integration into the forthcoming ICPD30 review processes.

The March Continues: High Level Commission June Meeting Reinforces Need to Call for Sexual and Reproductive Justice for All

The members of the High-level Commission on the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 Follow-up met on Friday 9 June to discuss their forthcoming final report and its launch, scheduled for September 2023, and to reflect and share key advocacy work conducted in recent months.

Advancing the Commitments of ICPD25 and Sustainable Development: UNFPA and Partners Convene High-Level Event at UN Commission on Population and Development

On 10 April 2023, a high-level side event titled, Advancing the ICPD25 Commitments in the Context of Sustainable Development Using a Framework of Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice, took place during the 56th session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development. The event was convened by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in partnership with the Governments of Denmark, Kenya, and South Africa, and IPPF as co-sponsors. Along with other speakers, it featured co-Chair H.E. The Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean and members of the High-Level Commission on the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 Follow-up.
