Dr. Mariam Wallet Aboubakrine is a Tuareg woman trained as medical doctor with specialization in humanitarian action. She dedicated her young carrier for advocacy for the Indigenous peoples’s rights with focus on the right to health considering the holistic approach to health and the central place of indigenous women. Dr Wallet Aboubakrine voice Indigenous peoples’s rights at the local level through Tin-Hinane a nomadic women organization but also at regional level and international stage as a member and former chair of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.She is a guest speaker, researcher, student and independent consultant on Indigenous peoples’rights including right to health, conflict prevention-resolution-prevention and  access to justice, indigenous women’s rights including language and cultural rights, SRHR, economic empowerment.
