Mr. Gary Cohen is the Executive Vice President, Global Health and President of the BD Foundation at BD (Becton, Dickinson and Co), a global medical technology company with 65,000 employees worldwide. Mr. Cohen is also a board director of the CDC Foundation, UNICEF USA and the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, board co-chair of GBCHealth, and board chair and founder of Together for Girls, a global partnership of national governments, UN agencies and private sector organizations dedicated to stopping violence against children, particularly sexual violence against girls.

Mr. Cohen and BD engage in extensive cross-sector collaboration to address unmet health needs globally, focused on specific health goals such as strengthening clinical and laboratory practices, safely immunizing children, addressing infectious and non-communicable diseases, reducing maternal and newborn mortality, combating antimicrobial resistance and improving safety for health workers and patients. He has served as an expert speaker and advocate on advancing health and human rights in various venues including the United Nations, Vatican, World Bank, World Health Assembly, U.S. Department of State and World Economic Forum-Davos. He has been honored for his humanitarian work by numerous organizations. Mr. Cohen holds a BA and MBA degrees from Rutgers University and previously served on the university’s board of trustees. In 2018, he founded the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation at Rutgers Business School to educate future business leaders on embedding societal needs and impact into their leadership agenda and strategies.
