Rafael Van de Bergh
Médecins Sans Frontières

Rafael Van den Bergh is a public health researcher with Médecins Sans Frontières. He was trained as a molecular immunologist/virologist, but left the laboratory and academic environment in 2011 to join the operational research unit (LuxOR) at MSF. His research focuses include mental health, migration, victims of torture and of sexual violence, and water and sanitation; and he has been involved in supervising and running studies in these and other topics across the missions of MSF in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Additionally, he is a faculty member and course coordinator for the WHO/TDR operational research training course model (“SORT-IT”).
