Ina Jurga
International Menstrual Hygiene Day Secretariat

Ms Ina Jurga is a menstrual health champion, based in the International Menstrual Hygiene Day Secretariat. She has more than 15 years of profound expertise in the area of water, sanitation and hygiene. She is a civil engineer by profession and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy. Ina has worked in a range of developing and emerging countries on long-term (China, Uganda, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, India) and short-term assignments (Bangladesh, Burundi, Cambodia, DRC Congo, Kenya, Nepal) for different UN agencies, the German Government and for other key sector partners.

She has been working for WASH United in Berlin since 2012. WASH United is a social impact organization focusing on advocacy, education and for sanitation, hygiene and menstrual hygiene.  In 2014, she co-initiated and leads since then, the International Secretariat for “Menstrual Hygiene Day”. In this role she manages the global strategy, partnerships, and the related policy work.

Ina loves connecting people for knowledge sharing and is a firm believer in collaboration to achieve collective impact and listening and empowering beneficiaries and organisations on the ground.
