eCentre Convivial mobile application

Commitment description:

The eCentre Convivial app can be downloaded from the Play Store, found on www.econvivial.org, or accessed offline via the SMPP (Short Message Pear to Pear) system. This app represents an AV-Jeunes association innovation, which aims to promote access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for young people and adolescents. The application: • provides adapted sexuality education services, with 12 downloadable modules in PDF and an audio version in French and other languages: Ewe and Kabiye; • gives young people the option to make an online appointment for STI treatment consultation or voluntary HIV testing, thanks to a geolocation system that automatically alerts health facility staff of the user's arrival in anticipation of a counter-referral.Test results are received and medication is prescribed via this platform; • ensures pregnancy, menstrual cycle and contraception monitoring, which, through SMS notifications or automatic calling machines (Robocalls), alerts users of upcoming prenatal consultations, menstruation, the ovulation period or the renewal of contraceptive methods; • provides online support that allows users to interact with telephone advisers (doctors, gynecologists, midwives, psychologists and peer educators) who work 24/7 on the application thanks to instant messaging; • broadcasts the Sexual and Reproductive Health Web Series; and • provides quizzes to test and consolidate users' knowledge of STIs/HIV/AIDS and youth and adolescent SRH. This application has been launched thanks to the financial support of the UNFPA/Togo, as well as and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.
