Commitment title:

Commitment submitted by a participant of Women Empowering Women Initiative (WEWIN).

Commitment description:

Women Empowering Women Initiative (WEWIN) thanks you for the opportunity given us to be part of this Nairobi summit on ICPD + 25. IT is indeed a great pleasure to be part of this event.
Though my country has made some progress in the issue of sexual and reproductive rights, it has not been fully implemented, because many women and young people still lack access to critical health services .We should hold the Government accountable until they review Laws and ensure proper implementation. Also the Government should ensure that Gender Equality is achieved by 2030.
Appointments both at federal and at state level should be made at equal levels, both male and female representation should be same. It should no longer be on the bases of ten males to one female rather it should be on equal representation.
As a woman I am committed to mobilize other women and young people to raise our voices to demand for proper implementation of broad sexual and reproductive health and rights
Universal access to sexual and reproductive health rights needs to be achieved also.
I will demand for proper inclusion of abortion for proper health and wellbeing of women and young people in Nigeria and most especially my local community where I cover.
I am even ready to extend the advocacy farther to other rural areas in other states where awareness has not been created at all. We need to organize seminars and network meetings regularly to sensitize and educate more women on the need for their sexual and reproductive health right.

Mode of engagement:
  • Programmatic action
