Igor Correa Caicedo
Executive Secretary Permanent Council of Afrodescendants of the Americas and the Caribbean

Igor Correa Caicedo is the executive secretary of the Permanent Council of Afro-Descendants of the Americas and the Caribbean. He has previously been an international advisor for Afro-descendant affairs in the Andean International Community of Nations –C.A.N- (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia) and has also been an Advisor / coordinator for Afro-descendant affairs in the Presidential Program of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law of the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia.

Mr. Correa has participated and led the creation of instances for decision-making, such as:, the International Policy of Afro-descendant Integration within the framework of the countries that are members of the C.A.N; the Secretariat for ethnic affairs of the Valley Government in Colombia, as well as he led this year (2019) the creation of a Public Policy for People of African Descent in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, (CaliAfro).

Mr. Correa, concerned about the new forms of slavery, related to economic rights in the field of Human Rights, is currently developing, together with other collaborators, the first Mutual Opportunity Bank in Colombia, as a community model for socio-economic development and to promote financial freedom.
