Sabin Executive Director of Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD). He has a master’s degree in Law from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu. He is a strong advocate for advocating in the field of human rights and gender equality. He has been working for legal advocacy to reform laws and policies discriminating against women, children, person with disabilities and other marginalized groups using various human rights instruments and also has been working on Reproductive Health Rights for the last 17 years. He has represented in various litigations at Supreme Court relating to abortion right (including Laxmi's case), contraception (including Manju Tamang's case, access to reproductive health to women with disabilities, child marriage, citizenship and birth registration, marital rape, gender-based violence, migration, transitional justice and others. He has also been involved in drafting of Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Rights Act as a lead consultant and he is currently supporting Ministry of Health and Population to draft regulation under the Act. Mr. Shrestha is also engaged in developing manuals and conducting trainings of judges, public attorneys, lawyers and police in various issues including CEDAW Convention and Reproductive Health Right. He coordinated implementation of capacity building of more than 1,100 para-legal committees over 50 districts which is a community-based protection mechanism to address various human rights issues.
