Mariama Sylla
Minister of Social Action, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Guinea

Mme. Diaby Mariama Sylla graduated from the University of Conakry with a Master’s degree in Biology. She also received training in Gender, Population and Development at the Center for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women in TUNIS in 2003. From 1999 to 2014, she was National Director of the Promotion of Women and Gender Coordinator for the reduction of inequalities and the promotion of Women’s Rights and Development in Guinea and in Africa. From 2014-2017, she served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Action, Women’s Empowerment and Childhood. On 23rd August 2017, she was appointed Minister of Social Action, Women’s Empowerment and Childhood. Since her nomination, she has demonstrated her commitment to advance women’s empowerment and GBV agenda including child marriage and early pregnancy and the promotion for family planning.
