Mr.
Roberto Gonzales Valerio
General Secretary, Employers’ Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) ZAMBASULTA Chapter (Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulo and Tawi-tawi)

Mr. Roberto Valerio is a faculty member of a graduate school for Business and Accountancy, business leader and representative to national and international institutions representing employer’s group. He is a champion in mainstreaming participation of private sector to socially relevant projects that impact on supporting human and economic development. He considers the convergence of both, private and public sector as a crucial part in ensuring favorable business environment. Given his advocacies, he attended various trainings, conferences and fora in the Philippines and abroad either as a participant or presenter.

Concurrently, he is the Secretary-General for Employers Confederation of the Philippines-ZAMBASULTA Chapter, Executive Director of Industrial Group Zamboanga, Incorporated, and Vice-Chair for the Steering Committee Southeast Asian Forum to End Human Trafficking and Forced Labor in Fisheries. He was a former City Director and afterwards appointed as Assistant National Program Coordinator for small and medium industry project of the Department of Trade and Industry. He was instrumental in installing Business Action for Family Planning (BAFP) within the canning industry capital of the Philippines, Zamboanga City which supplies almost all canned fish in the Philippines. This program provided access to FP information of more than 10,000 employees that can be translated to 50,000 people including their families.

Mr. Valerio practices what he preaches. He is happily married, with two (2) children who are already successful professionals. He has a degree in BS in Commerce major in Accountancy and completed a Master in Business Management (MBM) at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
