Commitment description:

Given the ambition of the Comoros in its vision of becoming an emerging country by 2030; Given the country’s accelerated growth and sustainable development strategy, which is aligned with the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Given the emerging Comoros plan for 2030, which was developed in an inclusive manner; Given that the country considers the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 as a priority and opportunity to accelerate its development; The Union of the Comoros is committed to: 1. Stepping up its efforts to ensure the comprehensive, effective and accelerated implementation and funding of the ICPD Programme of Action and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 2. The country is therefore committed to achieving the goal of zero preventable maternal deaths. 3. the country is committed to integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health and rights interventions into universal health coverage strategies, policies and programmes 4. The country is therefore committed to achieving the goal of zero unmet need for family planning information and services, as well as ensuring the availability of quality, affordable and safe modern contraceptives, including during humanitarian crises. 5. The country is therefore committed to ensuring that young people have access to the information and services adapted to their age and required to adequately protect them from unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. 6. The country therefore reaffirms its commitment to eradicating child marriage. 7. The country therefore reaffirms its commitment to eradicating sexual and gender-based violence. 8. The country therefore reaffirms its commitment to eradicating all forms of discrimination against all women and girls. 9. The country therefore reaffirms its commitment to implementing or investigating new financial instruments and new structures in order to mobilize

(12) Ensuring that the basic humanitarian needs and rights of affected populations, especially that of girls and women, are addressed as critical components of responses to humanitarian and environmental crises, as well as fragile and post-crisis reconstruction contexts, through the provision of access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information, education and services, including access to safe abortion services to the full extent of the law, and post-abortion care, to significantly reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, sexual and gender-based violence and unplanned pregnancies under these conditions.
