Commitment title:

Integrating and collaborating to accelerate action - Commitment by Women Deliver on gender equality, SRHR and women’s health and rights

Commitment description:

At Women Deliver, we know there is a strong need for feminist development and humanitarian systems that shift investments, power and leadership to girls and women. We also know sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and a woman’s right to bodily autonomy are cornerstones of gender equality and global progress. That is why we are making a commitment at the Nairobi Summit to further integrate and collaborate to accelerate SRHR in development and humanitarian settings. We will do this by working across sectors, hierarchies, demographics and geographies to engage, equip, and energize a strong base of activists and advocates to stand up for SRHR and gender equality. We will lead and inspire others to “push back against the pushback” on women’s human rights and bodily autonomy through targeted advocacy, skills building, and by demonstrating the impact of evidence-based solutions for SRHR to decision-makers and influencers. We commit to upholding and advancing gender equality, SRHR, and girls’ and women’s health and rights by achieving the following by the end of 2023: - Increasing the capacity of 155 advocates, decision-makers, media, and women-focused civil society organizations operating in development and humanitarian settings to influence investments, policies and programs - Increasing the capacity of 600 Young Leaders to influence investments, policies and programs - Fostering partnership and collaboration for increased advocacy impact by providing 300 platforms for gender equality stakeholders to come together, strategize, and develop shared solutions - Promoting progressive laws and legal frameworks, and influencing the adoption of at least 5 progressive policies, laws, and programs - Expanding access of 50,000 advocates and decision-makers to evidence and data on girls’ and women’s health and rights, including in areas where data gaps currently exist, through the dissemination of new and updated research products, policy and advocacy tools.
