Three youth groups covering Eastern and Southern Africa have launched a regional ICPD25 online youth caravan as part of their preparations for the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25.

The online caravan aims to achieve three key objectives:

  1. Ensure meaningful youth engagement through the collection and dissemination of youth views and voices on the platform so young people can participate and feel represented at the Nairobi Summit.
  2. Map out and share youth activities and events taking place in the region ahead of ICPD25.
  3. Provide a youth-friendly accountability framework with a focus on government commitments made during the conference to build the capacity of young people to hold their leaders to task.

The online caravan will achieve these goals by following a 3-steps online survey on engagement and priorities in focus areas, filling in information and skills gaps, and to collect data on age, gender, geographic focus and affiliations with advocacy networks and organizations. Youth will have access to the accountability framework to strengthen their engagement with their leaders on the commitments made in Nairobi. This data will be used to inform post-ICPD25 youth engagement regionwide.
